US confirms 1st withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon

The US has confirmed the first withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon under a ceasefire agreement. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has withdrawn forces from Khiam in southern Lebanon, however, the IDF added that troops remain in other parts of southern Lebanon to deter any threats posed to Israel. A 60-day truce was brokered between Israel and Hezbollah in November.
