US could make $1.5 tn/yr if it stops trade with countries it has deficit with: Trump

US President Donald Trump called for lower interest rates after the Federal Reserve raised it by 25 basis points for the first time since 2023. "[They] should be 1%, or less...because we are the best credit in the world...If we stopped trading with every country that we have a deficit with...we'd make, at least, $1.5 trillion a year," Trump said.
