US demands reduction in tariffs of Indian agricultural products: Report

The Donald Trump administration is looking to boost its agricultural exports which may in turn pressurise India to lower tariffs on its traditionally high-protection sector, The Indian Express reported. A White House statement on reciprocal tariffs earlier this month noted that Indian tariff on agricultural goods is 39% while US tariff on Indian products is 5%.
