US denies Iran's claim of shooting down American F-15 fighter jet, calls it 'rumour'

Iran has claimed it intercepted a US F-15 fighter jet near Hormuz Island after it allegedly violated Iranian airspace. US, however, dismissed the claim as a "rumour," saying no American fighter jet has been shot down during Operation Epic Fury. Notably, three US F-15E jets were earlier downed in an apparent friendly fire incident over Kuwait during the US-Iran conflict.
