US denies it is considering using nuclear weapons against Iran

The White House has denied an X user's claim that US Vice President JD Vance implied President Donald Trump might use nuclear weapons against Iran, saying, "You absolute buffoons." Vance had said Trump could use "tools in [the US'] toolkit" that they haven't used yet if Iran doesn't respond positively as the deadline to reopen Strait of Hormuz nears end.
