US denies visa to Palestinian President Abbas for UN meeting again

The US has denied Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas a visa to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York next week, marking the second consecutive year of denial. The State Department said Abbas and Palestinian officials had failed to fulfil obligations aimed at pursuing peace with Israel. Palestinians will still be represented by diplomats already accredited to the UN.
