US designates chief of Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan as global terrorist

The US has designated Noor Wali, the leader of the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. "Under Noor Wali's leadership, TTP has claimed responsibility for numerous deadly terrorist attacks across Pakistan," the US' State Department said. The designation seeks to deny terrorists the resources to plan and carry out attacks, the State Department added.
