US did not consider consequences of Iran closing Strait of Hormuz before starting war: Report

US President Donald Trump's team failed to fully account for the potential consequences of Iran closing Strait of Hormuz before it started the war, CNN reported. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important routes for oil and LNG shipping. Oil prices rose to $119 a barrel on Monday, their highest level since 2022 because of the disruption.
