After attacks by pro-Iran protesters at US Consulates in Pakistan's Karachi and Lahore, US Embassy in Islamabad issued an advisory for its citizens. It advised citizens to monitor local news, observe personal security practices including being aware of surroundings and avoiding large crowds. It asked citizens to ensure their Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) registration is up to date.
