US faces blood supply crisis, has less than 1-day supply of O positive blood

The American Red Cross said the US is facing a blood supply crisis, with less than a one-day national supply of O-positive blood, the country's most commonly transfused blood type. It said blood donations have dropped to their lowest summer level in four years, raising concerns over delays in surgeries and trauma care. US faced a similar crisis in 2022.
