US FDA clears generic drug for chronic constipation treatment

The US FDA has approved a generic version of Prucalopride Tablets, 1 mg and 2 mg, used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults. The drug is bioequivalent to Motegrity and will be manufactured in India. In the U.S., Prucalopride recorded annual sales of $184 million.
