US immigration gets costlier from Jan 1, 2026

From January 1, 2026, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will increase fees for asylum, work permits and TPS applications, citing inflation. Forms such as I-765, I-821 and annual asylum filings will cost more and applications with old fees will be rejected. The hike comes as the Donald Trump administration tightens green card scrutiny and imposes fresh entry bans.
