US imposes 100% tariffs on imports of branded medicines, lists how firms can bypass them
US President Donald Trump has announced 100% tariffs on branded medicines and their ingredients to mark the first anniversary of his 'Liberation Day' tariffs. Foreign manufacturers must reduce medicine prices and shift production to US to avoid the 100% tariffs, which will be effective in 120-180 days. Companies in EU, Japan, South Korea and Switzerland will face only 15% tariffs.
