US imposes fresh 10% tariffs on goods imported from India

The US has imposed a 10% tariff on goods imported from India as part of a broader crackdown on products allegedly made using forced labour. India is among 17 countries facing the 10% rate, while 43 others will face 12.5%. The tariffs cover 99.4% of US imports but exempt products including oil and gas, fertilisers and certain food items.
