US imposes sanctions on Myanmar military leaders over coup

The US has imposed sanctions on 10 current and former Myanmar military officers, including Myanmar Army Chief General Min Aung Hlaing and his deputy Soe Win. "These sanctions specifically target those who played a leading role in the overthrow of Burma's [Myanmar's] democratically elected government," US Treasury Department said. The US has also sanctioned three entities controlled by the regime.
