US imposes sanctions on network helping Iran procure weapons

Amid heightened tensions between US and Iran, the US Treasury Department on Wednesday issued sanctions targeting individuals and entities that it said were a part of an international network helping Iran procure weapons. The sanctions target Iranian and Russian nationals, as well as entities based in Iran, Russia and Nigeria, it said in a statement.
