US inflation hits 3-year high of 3.8% in April amid Iran war
Inflation in the US jumped to 3.8% in April, marking the highest level in roughly three years amid the disruption caused by the country's war with Iran. Almost half of the rise was driven by surging energy costs, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said. Prices increased across categories, including household furnishings, groceries, airline fares, personal care, clothing and education.
