US inmates hack prison tablets, steal ₹1.5 cr in credits

As many as 364 prisoners exploited a vulnerability on their JPay tablets to steal almost $225,000 (over ₹1.5 crore) worth of credits in the US state of Idaho, according to officials. Idaho prisoners can be gifted tablets by their family for video chats, and use the credits for buying e-books and music. Officials noted that taxpayer money was not affected.
