US Iran sanctions could put India under fresh pressure

India could face renewed US pressure as Washington threatens sanctions against countries trading with Iran. India imported about $700 million worth of Iranian oil in April and May, according to the Global Trade Research Initiative. While India sources crude from around 40 countries, wider sanctions could add another challenge to India-US economic ties.
