US job openings rise to 7.52 mn in September: JOLTS

US job openings rose to 7.52 million in September 2026 from 7.19 million in August, as per the BLS JOLTS report. Voluntary quits climbed to 3.4 million, up 321,000 from August. Hires and total separations remained stable at 5.4 million and 5.3 million. Layoffs fell to 1.6 million. The data follows the Fed's rate pause on October 28.
