US judge fooled into telling Vembu to post ₹15,300-cr bond in divorce case: Lawyer

Zoho Co-Founder Sridhar Vembu's lawyer Christopher Melcher has claimed the US court's order, which directed Vembu to furnish a $1.7 billion (over ₹15,300) bond during his divorce proceedings, was a year old and "invalid". Adding that it is on appeal, the advocate said, "The judge was fooled into making an order...A subsequent judge acknowledged that the amount seemed absurd."
