US labels Anthropic a 'supply chain risk' to national security for not allowing mass surveillance
US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has designated Anthropic a "supply chain risk" to national security, effectively ending their $200-million contract. The label bans every defence contractor from doing business with Anthropic. Hegseth alleged Anthropic’s stance, which was to not lower its safeguards for mass surveillance and autonomous weapons, was "fundamentally incompatible" with US principles.
