US launches investigation into H-1B visa 'abuse' by IT companies, official names Cognizant

US has launched a major investigation into "abuse" of H-1B and PERM visa programmes by IT companies, with Labour Department Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito naming Cognizant. D'Esposito said investigators have already issued dozens of subpoenas as part of the investigation. "We wants to ensure that American workers are not seeing their jobs taken away by foreigners," he added.
