US lawmaker seeks targeted sanctions against Bangladesh

Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar has sought targeted sanctions against Bangladesh over the sporadic violence against the minority communities in the country. "When we receive a global call for help, we must respond appropriately as the world's bellwether of human rights," he said. Earlier this month, Bangladesh confirmed 88 incidents of communal violence against minorities, mostly Hindus.
