US man attempts to hijack plane mid-air, shot dead by passenger

A 49-year-old US man named Akinyela Sawa Taylor was fatally shot after attempting to hijack a Tropic Air plane in Belize on Thursday, according to officials. Sixteen people were onboard the aircraft when the hijacker stabbed multiple passengers and took control of the flight at knifepoint. The hijacker was shot by one of the passengers and succumbed to his injuries.
