US man awarded ₹4.8 crore after beer burns his organs

A US man, Richard Washart, has been awarded $750,000 (over ₹4.8 crore) after surviving a sip of beer tainted with a caustic chemical that severely burned his oesophagus and stomach. Washart sued the restaurant, who in turn blamed a company that cleans its beer tap lines, which was ordered to pay half the compensation along with the restaurant.
