US mentioned 'digital tax' India already removed in deal's factsheet before revision

When White House quietly revised the India-US interim trade deal factsheet, it changed the statement "India will remove its digital services taxes" to "committed to negotiate" trade deal rules. Notably, India has already removed the equalisation levy, known as the 'Google tax', in 2025. The tax used to be charged on digital ads provided by non-resident digital companies.
