US met Iran-backed Houthis after rejecting Saudi Crown Prince's call for help

Amid the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Houthis, US officials met representatives of Iran-backed Houthis in Oman, Reuters reported citing sources. The US had reached a ceasefire with Houthis in May 2025. US President Donald Trump had recently told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the US would not get directly involved in the conflict.
