US nuclear submarine's mystery collision was with underwater mountain: Investigation

US nuclear-powered submarine USS Connecticut that struck an underwater object while operating in international waters in the Indo-Pacific region in October had hit an uncharted underwater mountain, an investigation has found. Eleven sailors were injured in the crash, which damaged USS Connecticut's forward ballast tanks. The vessel is currently in Guam undergoing repairs.
