US officially changes spelling of Turkey to 'Türkiye'

The US said it'll use Turkish government's preferred spelling, Türkiye, instead of Turkey in most of its "formal, diplomatic and bilateral contexts". The decision had been made in response to a request from the Turkish Embassy, US State Department said. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government had changed the name to differentiate the country from bird of the same name.
