US oil price falls below $85 mark for first time since Jan over demand fears
US oil price fell below the $85 mark for the first time since January 2022 as a dollar surge and global demand concerns pulled down prices despite Russia's threat to disrupt supplies. As of 8:30 pm, US West Texas Intermediate had fallen $3.21 to $83.67/barrel while Brent crude had fallen $3.08 to $89.75/barrel. Both indices had fallen over 3.5%.
