US President Bill Clinton was impeached 19 years ago

The 42nd President of the US, Bill Clinton, was impeached on December 19, 1998 after he was charged with lying under oath and obstructing justice in connection with an extramarital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton became the second president in US history to be impeached. However, he was acquitted of impeachment charges on February 12, 1999.
