US proposes 'AI Kill Switch Act' for AI models that pose risk

A bipartisan group of US lawmakers has proposed the "AI Kill Switch Act". The act would empower the US Department of Homeland Security to order the shutdown of AI systems that pose serious threats to human life or the economy.
