US proposes hike in H-1B visa fee; Indians to get affected

The US Homeland Security Department plans to raise H-1B visa fee to $103,265 (approximately ₹98 lakh), and this move is likely to affect Indians who account for nearly 70% of H-1B visa beneficiaries. The department has also proposed doing away with the 60-day grace period for H-1B workers, meaning they may have to immediately leave US after losing their jobs.
