US pushed Pakistan to convince Iran for ceasefire as Iran rattled Trump: Report

White House pushed Pakistan to broker a ceasefire with Iran, something which President Donald Trump was eager for since at least his first threat on March 21, FT reported. Trump was worried about surging oil prices and rattled by the Iranian regime's resilience. US and Pakistan thought Iran may accept the US-backed ceasefire offer if it came from Muslim-majority Pakistan.
