US removes sanctions on purchase of Iranian oil for 30 days

The US has waived sanctions on the purchase of Iranian oil at sea for 30 ​days amid the Middle East war. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, "The waiver will bring some ‌140 million barrels of oil to global markets and help relieve pressure on energy supply." The US previously eased sanctions on Russian oil.
