US researchers claim new device improves earthquake, tsunami forecast

Researchers at University of South Florida have developed a device that claims to detect small changes in the Earth's crust to predict earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. The device has been installed in the seafloor of the Gulf of Mexico since 2018 to test its movements. Its orientation is measured using a digital compass that provides heading, pitch and roll information.
