New US sanctions on Iran have led to the suspension of TOEFL exams, disrupting Iranian students' plans to study abroad. The Educational Testing Service (ETS), the US-based organisation administering the exam, confirmed the suspension. ETS said Iranian students can still take the test in neighbouring countries, but travelling abroad makes the alternative financially difficult for many students.
