US says Israel withdrew from Lebanon buffer zone; Israel & Lebanon deny claim

US State Department claimed that Israel has withdrawn from part of its self-declared buffer zone in southern Lebanon, calling it “a significant demonstration of good faith” toward Lebanon’s government. However, Israeli and Lebanese officials denied the claim. A senior Lebanese official said Israel was doing the opposite of a pullback by enforcing the buffer zone against anyone approaching it.
