US seizes 13.5 kilograms of enriched uranium from Venezuela

The US has seized a stockpile of highly enriched uranium from Venezuela. On Friday, the US Department of Energy announced that “thanks to President Trump’s decisive leadership”, 13.5 kg (around 30 pounds) of uranium had been removed from a legacy research reactor in Venezuela. The move comes months after the US captured former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
