US Senate clears bill that could impose 100% tariffs on India for buying Russian oil

The US Senate passed a bill aimed at targeting Russia and major buyers of its petroleum products. The bill allows President Donald Trump to impose 100% tariffs on goods from countries that are among the top five importers of Russian oil and gas, including China, India, Azerbaijan, Hungary and Slovakia. It also penalises companies that invest in Iran's energy sector.
