US Senate including Trump's own party members vote against him to stop Iran war

The US Senate backed a legislation directing President Donald Trump to halt US military action against Iran. The Senate voted 50-48 in favour of the war powers resolution, which passed the House of Representatives earlier this month. Some members of Trump's own Republican party voted against him while expressing scepticism about a peace plan he agreed with the Iranians.
