US Senator opposes 100% tariffs on India, says 'This will push India towards Russia & China'

US Senator Rand Paul opposed proposed 100% tariffs on India under a bill targeting countries buying Russian oil, calling the move like America "shooting itself in the foot". He said, "Imposing...tariffs on India when we're trying to court them to help us in our competition with China is...self-defeating." He warned such tariffs could push India closer to Russia and China.
