US Senator visits Taiwan as China ups military threat

US Senator Tammy Duckworth on Tuesday reiterated America's support for Taiwan on her second visit in a year to the island. Duckworth met Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen during the trip. China denounced the visit and said, "Taiwan is a province of China, and there's no so-called President." Thirty Chinese military jets had entered Taiwan's air defence zone on Monday.
