US signs $22.9 bn deal for annual production of 1,000 missiles

US' military has signed a seven-year deal with defence contractor, Raytheon, worth $22.9 billion to increase their annual production of Tomahawk missiles from 60 to 1,000. The deal comes after reports claimed US depleted its stockpile of Tomahawk missiles in the war with Iran. They are part of US Navy's long-range arsenal and can be launched from ships and submarines.
