US startup that aims to build factories in space raises $42 million

US-based Varda Space Industries has raised $42 million in Series A round of funding. "[Our] mission is to build the first space factory - essentially the first industrial park on orbit," Varda CEO Will Bruey told CNBC. Varda aims to have its first launch and reentry in 18 months, with the goal of bringing back about 100 kilograms of material.
