US state legislature candidate who died of COVID-19 wins election

A 55-year-old Republican candidate who died due to coronavirus in October is projected to win a seat in the North Dakota legislature. According to unofficial results, David Andahl received 5,901 votes for 35.53% of the total votes. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has announced the appointment of Wade Boeshans to the seat that was left vacant due to Andahl’s passing.
