US stock markets record massive crash on open as Dow Jones falls 1,700 points

Stock markets in the US mirrored the massive crash seen by Asian markets on Monday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell over 1,700 points shortly after opening. This comes as markets grow wary of effects of a trade war started by US President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs. Nasdaq tumbled nearly 800 points while S&P 500 dipped over 200 points.
