US tells non-emergency staff in Karachi, Lahore to leave Pakistan

The United States has asked non-essential staff and their families at its consulates in Karachi and Lahore to leave Pakistan after pro-Iran protesters attacked the facilities following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The US said operations in Islamabad remain unaffected, but visa services in Karachi and Lahore are suspended until at least March 6.
