US to deploy 1,000 more troops for Trump's immigration crackdown
The Pentagon is preparing to deploy at least 1,000 additional active-duty troops to support US President Donald Trump's expanding crackdown on immigration, officials said on Friday. Around 500 soldiers will be sent to the southwest border while approximately 500 Marines will go to Cuba's Guantanamo Bay, they added. "The discussions are ongoing and the numbers could increase," an official stated.
